Instruments sterilized in this manner should be rinsed very carefully with sterile water to thoroughly remove the toxic agents, dried, and placed in a sterile container (if not used immediately). Care must be taken when using liquid chemical germicides due to their carcinogenic nature are their capacity to damage lung and nasal tissues. Neutral pH cleaning concentrates are safe to use and will effectively remove contaminated debris. Neutral pH cleaning concentrates will render instruments that are clean, safe to handle, and will effectively provide the prerequisite for sterilization.
